Focus Years: 2009 | Country: France
Synopsis:
In Akurana, three ethnic groups of Sri Lanka live next to one another: the Singhalese, the Tamils and the Muslims. A state of submerged violence subsists and prevents any dialogue. The pollution and mismanagement of the Pinga Oya River is a main source of tension. The women of the three communities have started concrete initiatives to transform water from an issue of dispute into a catalyst for peace, or "L'Eau un Catalyseur de Paix".
