Synopsis:
Since 2000, ECHO (the Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection department of the European Commission) financially supported Malteser International in implementing humanitarian projects in the field of health, nutrition, food aid, food security, and emergency road rehabilitation in different phases of context in South Kivu. Through this successful cooperation, in the last eight years more than 5 million people have received humanitarian assistance. This film presents this successful cooperation in two main parts: the first film chronologically describes how the humanitarian assistance, as funded by ECHO and implemented by Malteser International, has improved the situation of the beneficiaries. The story of the beneficiaries per sector (health, psycho-social care, nutrition, food security, road rehabilitation) is shown passing through the different phases of the context. The second film presents the situation of humanitarian aid for beneficiaries in the region where the humanitarian crisis persists.
