"Born to the Sea" is a surf film documenting the lives of two young surfers (Ryan and Chelsea) who live on the Jersey Shore. They are students, organic farmers, community helpers, ocean lovers, visionaries, artists and surfers who draw a close connection with Mother Earth and surfing. Their love of surfing has brought them peace, beauty, waves and friendship. Growing up surfing the Jersey Shore year-round, Ryan and Chelsea have taken the time to keep their local beaches clean, alive and beautiful for generations to come. Leaving only their footprints, they help out with local Jersey Shore chapter organizations like the Surfrider Foundation, a non-profit grassroots organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of our world’s oceans, waves and beaches. Living in a small town where everyone out in the lineup is tight-knit, there is a strong sense of community, friendship and peace - as well as an understanding and respect towards the ocean and beaches. Jersey Shore surfers show a dedication to their home and the beaches that continue to grow stronger after each storm, keeping them sustained throughout the years.
