Synopsis:
“Del Arbol a Arbol (From a Tree to a Tree)†is a documentary film which strives to discover the adventure of the creative process to the wood craftsman/sculptor Urcino MartÃnez, born in 1932 in Spain. He woks with enthusiasm, daily, in creating “trees from treesâ€. We will follow the creative process (mental and manual) as well as the parallel process in nature - finding, as it were a Tai-Chi exercise, the same calm and beauty. Director’s Statement: When I discovered this place in Spain, there were two things that really moved me: on one hand, this artist Ursi - smart, calm, peaceful, happy - and on the other, a very beautiful nature -powerful and profound. Through those feelings, I have tried to reveal the maximum respect to both the artist and the art of nature, on this as my very first short documentary film. It has been a special shooting to me, because it was the first documentary film for all of the team. This film was the Opening of the Festival of Aguilar de Campoo (Palencia, Spain) but as a tribute to this artist, Ursi. He died on January 7, 2007.
