In the heart of the Brazilian rainforest, on the river Jauperì, in an area abandoned by the government and lacking any basic services there is a little school, settled by a European couple, Paul and Bianca, who came there as tourists and discovered themselves as teachers. In this school, called Vivamazonia, the children learn not only to read or to write, but also to protect and to give value to their own environment. In the April 2009, the ban on fishing on the river Jauperì is about to expire. The Brazilian Institute for Environment and Natural Resources (IBAMA) has organized a meeting to decide whether to renew or to abolish the law. The meeting will be held in Itaquera, the nearest village to where the school is located. The teachers and the children decide to participate to the meeting, taking part in this struggle for the right to food.
