Focus Years: 2007 | Country: India
Synopsis:
The monsoon in India is typically bunched into spells of intense rain. For rain fed farmers, the gaps between these spells as also the pattern of rainfall can at times be even more important than the total rain that falls in a season. Agriculture is all about getting water on time in sync with the needs of the crop at different stages of its growth.
This film describes simple methods that can help farmers overcome this problem as well as the damage of soil erosion in the farm fields. These simple, low-cost measures can mean the difference between drought and prosperity for our farmers. They show that if we learn to value the bounty of nature, we can take an important step out of the deep crisis of dry land farming in India.
