Synopsis:
Working from a home office, covering remote areas without backup, game wardens enforce a wider range of “wildlife, criminal, civil, and traffic law” than any other state law-enforcement officer, in addition to performing search and rescue, homeland security, hunter education instruction, and combating drug manufacturing and marijuana gardens on wild lands. Being a game warden is among the most dangerous of all law enforcement jobs, as well as the lowest paid. But, for those who stick with it, they would not have it any other way. California has the worst game wardens per capita in North America, and as a result organized crime has moved in resulting in a $100 million per year black market in wildlife trafficking. Narrated by Jameson Parker, (“Simon and Simon”) this documentary is an inspiration for the extremely popular “Wild Justice” series on the National Geographic Channel.
