Somerset's Changing Coast| 17mins
Director: Kevin Redpath | Producer: Kevin Redpath
Focus Years: 2011 | Country: United Kingdom
Synopsis:
This film was commissioned to assist coastal communities in Somerset, Southwest England who are most at risk from issues associated with sea level rise and to help them adapt to projected changes at the coast. With one of the highest tidal ranges in the world, the Somerset coastline is vulnerable to extreme weather conditions. The film explores the environmental and ecological aspects of coastline management and the pressures placed on it by tourism and business development. It shows local residents, the Environment Agency, National Trust and Natural England representatives talking about the changes they've seen occur along Somerset's dynamic coastline.
