Synopsis:
Multiple Chemical Sensitivities (M.C.S.) is a condition in which one becomes intolerant to small doses of chemicals frequently found in our environment. For some of the people affected by M.C.S., even the fragrance of a fabric softener or a perfume can be a major cause of distress, plunging them into intense pain. The film portrays three American women who try to recreate a chemical free environment in order to live with their condition. For each one of them, daily activities - such as seeing friends or going to work - becomes a major struggle. How does one keep a balance between being chemical-free and living one’s life in a world where every friend, every hobby represents a potential danger?
