Synopsis:
This film is about venturing to my past, to the memories of a childhood of which few remains still survive. In 2009 I decided to visit Petritskoe - to me, a place of childhood dreams that nurtured me throughout the course of the many summers that I spent there in the company of my grandparents - and to the world, one of countless villages that was not spared by the cloud of radioactivity that engulfed my country after the the catastrophe of Chernobyl, and that would eventually become nothing more than a registry in the list of villages that were to be surrendered back to nature. Three years after the explosion, when the evacuation order was given, Petritskoe was finally lost in time. With the passing of my grandfather 20 years after being displaced, I return to reclaim these memories in this most intimate place, the place of my childhood and of the childhood of my mother. A place that we can barely recognize now.
