Synopsis:
As technology advances and we build more and more devices, the number of obsolete electronics in need of disposal is growing as well. The issue of global e-waste is a mounting concern. And as the problem piles up, many countries are finding it easiest to just ship their e-waste overseas. "E-Waste" is a mini-documentary about the dangers and realities of electronic waste - how it affects economies, individuals and the world. Originally created for GOOD Magazine, Ian Lynam edited footage of e-waste recycling, an often crude affair that exposes workers to dangerous toxic materials, with custom animation that easily and effectively informs viewers about the dangers of the e-waste industry. The film is set to a soundtrack by E-Rock, an electronic experimental musician currently touring the world with Ratatat.
