Reforestation 101| 4mins
Director: Brent Gudgel | Producer: Dave Mahanes
Focus Years: 2008 | Country: United States
Synopsis:
The most deforestation is done by average people trying to survive. The tragedy is that this can have a horrible impact on one’s ability TO survive. When the forests are gone, it triggers a devastating process. Without trees, desertification sets in. In this video, Dawit is introduced. Dawit is an Ethiopian project supervisor, working with Eden Reforestation Projects to reforest critical areas in Ethiopia. Planting trees starts a healthy cycle of reforestation leading to replenished soil, improved farming, habitats for animal life to return to, erosion control and the forest sponges are restored thereby raising the water tables. Millions of trees have been planted. Millions more are needed. Working together we can plant trees and forest again. Everything lives where trees live - plant trees. Save lives.
