Water, Women & 10,000 Miles| 49mins

Synopsis:
It is a story of one woman and a little girl who live in the most arid part of the state of Rajasthan, where the annual rainfall varies from ten to 40 centimeters. It is quite often erratic, so much so that the entire rainfall of the year may fall on a single day and the rest of the year may be dry. In India, water is solely a woman's problem. From the time she is able to walk, she learns that it is her job to find and get water for the entire household. In her lifetime, she would have walked more than 10,000 miles to get water. Komal joins a motley group of women to travel through the vast desert for an earthen pitcher of water. So does the little nine-year-old Lajjo, who can barely carry the pot on her head. Several dangers await them on their journey.
