On one side of the river, the government wants to build a dam to provide hydroelectric power to the whole region. On the other, a group of women say no, that would kill the ecosystem and livelihoods of thousands of people. This documentary is about the battle for the Namada River. For two decades, these women fought against the armed might of the state and the big business and construction industry. They are disciplined and singular in their determination. They will not waiver, and are not afraid even though they were beaten and dragged into prison. Who are these protectors of the river? Watch the story of the women of Namada Valley to feel their passion in protecting their environment and the river they love.
