Director: Multiple | Producer: Laurence Dworkin & George Davis
Focus Years: 2010 | Country: South Africa
Synopsis:
In "Path into the Future (Magaliesburg)", Kerri Wolter is caretaker to a very special bird. The Cape Vulture is rapidly disappearing, and only 2,900 breeding pairs are left in existence. "CareTakers" is a documentary film project about South Africa's rich natural heritage, and the dedicated people who care for it. In the face of overwhelming biodiversity loss, habitat degradation, and human-induced climate change, there is a pressing need for clear calls to effective action. These films are intended to educate, advocate and inspire people to become active parts of the solution. The project has been launched with a series of eight short films that profile some inspiring South Africans working to protect our natural resources.
