Synopsis:
Only fifty years ago, there were around one hundred Asiatic black bears living in Korea. Now, through the destruction of the natural habitats and thoughtless trespassing of their living environment, there are now only five remaining Asiatic black bears, making them one of the endangered species. This allowed the initiation of the joint project of the Environmental Department of the Korean Government and SBS to come together in 2001 to start the Restoration Project of Asiatic Black Bear. The SBS has been filming the "Asiatic Black Bear: Returned to Nature" as part of the restoration project process every year for the past nine years. Episode 1 chronicles the Asiatic black bears release experiment in Mt. Jiri, including close coverage of their lives over three years. See the Asiatic black bears' remarkable adaptation to wilderness in the heart of mother nature and mystery about the hibernation of wild animals is solved by the hibernation study of Asiatic black bears.
