Synopsis:
The film “Flashes of Flesh” has a very low-profile production, and used images of animals slaughtered taken in the 1980s with a VHS camera. While the quality is not ideal, the impact of the scenes is overwhelmingly strong. This short film reveals what happens to animals commonly considered objects to be bought and sold. The images speak for themselves, with the animals’ endless pleading, their cries and moans, scenes from where man’s insatiable hunger manufactures tasty treats to eat. Speciesism is a way of thinking that completely blocks out such a reality from our minds. “Flashes of Flesh” is the first film for both film-makers.
