Luigi Casati, called Gigi, Italy's most famous cave diver, and his mentor, Jean Jacques Bolanz are the protagonists of this exploration. Since 1988, Luigi and J. Jacques have been diving together in the Oliero caves, picking up from where the original explorers left off in 1960. Completing the exploration has become a personal challenge and a desire to surpass their own limits. But underwater speleologists' explorations are also fundamental for researchers to collect important data. Learning about the subterranean water resources helps researchers to prevent pollution and protect the environment.
