Director: Evald Otterstad | Producer: Ingeranna KrohnNydal
Focus Years: 2005 | Country: Norway
Synopsis:
A poetic and personal documentary about the ongoing changes in the Norwegian countryside. What happens when both the landscape and the history disappears? We meet people that are strongly affected by the phenomenon. The old way of living have formed the landscape and also been the premise for the deep understanding between man and nature that have existed up till now. The film shows that not only is the physical landscape disappearing and the history and the cultural heritage destroyed by invasive forests - when land is lying unused. It is the culture itself that is being lost, when people end their traditional occupation, and their coexistence and dependence on the soil is ended. (Man’s place in the world being out of balance.)
