Synopsis:
This documentary relates the life of Jacques Maritain (1882-1973), a French philosopher of Christian Inspiration. He was not just a witness, but somebody who actively took part in the 20th century: new thoughts emerging at the Sorbonne, the rise of totalitarianism, the Resistance, the Liberated France, the Christian democracy in South America, but also art, liberty, peace and love of the human being.
Jacques Maritain lived in the turbulent times of the 20th century, with its crimes against humanity and its hope for peace. But throughout all this time, he had a secret, his ineffable and faithful love for his wife, Raïssa. She was the inspiration for all his political actions and his philosophical thoughts.
