"In Another Life" describes the various ways in which individuals in America, the most materialist society in the world, are encountering reincarnation. In a society which denies its existence. Several different routes are explored, including scientific research, personal experiences (spontaneously or in therapy), claims made by children, and exposure to metaphysical teachings. The film departs from the standard theme which questions "Does reincarnation exist?" and the standard treatment in which skeptics "shoot down" intriguing cases. The film first establishes that reincarnation has been proven scientifically, and then goes on to explore it as a "phenomenon" rather than merely as a "belief."
