Such a unique cut of a man, Kevan has lived in the Indian countryside for many decades. Kevan came to India in the 60's and he explains how things were back then. He is a writer and we read some of his poetry and prose. He was a British school teacher, perhaps in a girls school before and in between his travels. Back then people traveled overland, and had intimate contact with Islam on his way to and from India. We speak of how deep the philosophical understanding of the people really is. Typical movies take us to far away places and make us feel as though we were there.Â Of course a talk show is a completely different experience.Â With so many videos in this festival, isn't it amazing that we are each immediately attracted to what has interest for us?Â Especially for those of us with a modest lifestyle without much travel or break from our routine. It definitely seems rewarding to relish beautiful cinematography, music and subject matter to enrich our normal lives.Â There is a value in that. These are all the things that are "Out There". In our series of talks, we are curious about what is the mechanism that forms our interest.Â Why does our attention take the focus that it does take and what choice, if any, do we have in the matter.Â We do not suggest that one should be substituted for the other, just to notice.Â This comprises what is "In Here."
