Focus Years: 2009 | Country: United States
Synopsis:
For 6 days in August, 2008, politicians and protesters converged at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado. Just across the river, in sight of the event, 40 spiritual teachers from Buddhist, Christian, Jewish, Islamic, Hindu and Native American religions converged at the retreat 'Meditate 08,' to sit quietly in a park, attempting to promote positive world change through inward contemplation. Protesters, politicians and meditators all agreed our world is in desperate need of change, but how to achieve that change was where their agreement ended.
'6 Days in a Park' dives in the midst of police raids and widespread protest marches, portrays candid discussions with prominent politicians and illuminates the contrast and similarities of the Convention with the spiritual teachings of nationally recognized religious leaders.
