Synopsis:
This short doc looks at the traditional cultural practice in South India of Tonsure, the act of sacrificing ones hair to a Hindu deity and the business that surrounds this practice. The film then takes us on a journey from the tonsure halls of Tirupati to the hair processing factories in Eluru several hundred kilometers away. Thus giving a fascinating insight into the origins of wigs and hair extensions.
