Synopsis:
'Visiting Shane' reveals the profound and inspiring impact three hospice volunteers had on a mother and her dying son during his final days. Presented from the point of view of one of the volunteers (filmmaker-Varda Hardy), this documentary is a uniquely intimate and candid portrait of a young veteran, Shane Lewis, whose body is rapidly becoming paralyzed. Shane's mother is disarming as she speaks candidly about the emotional and spiritual roller coaster ride she and her son endured, and how in the face of his impending death, Shane found fulfillment through the three volunteers who visited him.
