Synopsis:
'Laula' is a portrait of Jewish paintress Laula Plaßmann who developed an unusual way of evoking deceased members of her family in her pictures. Remembering those people is a way of paying homage to or meditating on their lives, respectfully. The film acknowledges her special approach: to place biographical aspects in a pictorial context. In 2008-2009 Laula Plaßmann painted 35 members of her family who became victims of the holocaust.
