I've always wondered how street sweepers lived and worked each day in an unforgiving environment: under the baking sun, inhaling heavily polluted air, and sweeping along filthy roads where reckless motorists abound. Through their hard work and sacrifice, they embody the selfless Filipino spirit of heroism called “Bayanihan.†To me, this is the perfect example of day-to-day heroism that society needs emulate in order for the country to progress and succeed.
