A Sinhalese doctor from Birmingham returns to Sri Lanka to help amputees at the Mannar hospital. Part of the Longing and Belonging series looking at the diaspora returning to Sri Lanka.
This portrait is part of the 'I Am' series, a multimedia project looking at identity through the lives of Sri Lankan elders. The project is trying to engage people with oral history and, through the wisdom of these wonderful elders, to challenge perceptions of identity and explore how this could help bring communities together.
