The main hero brings to his cell some sea-shells – the symbols of the decorative elements from the outer world of material reality. The hero who, is very eccentric in his actions, represents the subject of history and society and bears the mystical signs. From time to time, he behaves like a savage, like a half-crazy ape full of vital energy, but on the whole he is an organized wild creature.
Imagination and emotions are the only means of escaping reality and fleeing into the spiritual world, where his soul rejoices and reflects a beautiful girl with a violin in the perfect environment.
The hero, who seems to be deaf and dumb to the girl, asks her to play the violin. The girl is a bit surprised, but she still agrees to fulfil his wish. The delighted listener dedicates a verse to her. The girl is even more amazed on discovering that he is neither deaf nor dumb and merely pretended to be such. They both start laughing at the innocent and beautiful lie.
