Synopsis:
A creative documentary of the Parma lowlands which celebrates in its own particular way Verdi. The film, which shies away from the historical-tourist intent, as well as from the celebrative re-evocation, gives space and words to a characters on the brink of extinction, which tell their genuine passion for music through their personal stories, small and extraordinary: Carlo and Neto, two rival tenors; the maestro Nico, in love with Wagner; Paolina, who from the height of her 93 years, remembers a “Falstaff” directed by Toscanini; the maestro Gualazzini, that executes a march in honor of Marco Pantani; the 92 year old Maso, old craftsman, who remembers the lyric lessons of his father; Fratello, self-taught singer and laic “priest” who does the peice “Mezzanotte a Mosca” for the camera.
