Synopsis:
Helma and Benno met and fell in love as teenagers in the Riga, Ghetto in 1942. After several years in the Concentration Camp and escaping on the death march they spent 11 months in the Latvian Forest, constantly on the run and risking their lives to save others and themselves. Fifty years after taking their first vows, with children and grandchildren present they prepare for the formal "Chuppa" , wedding they never had. This film impacts the transgenerational transmission of trauma, while at the same time celebrating the renewal of family life and shows how history, never forgotten, plays itself out in present day life.
