Synopsis:
"Nuestra América (Our America)" is a search for clues; a journey through an ever-present past, 25 years after a revolution which nobody believed was possible. It is a personal encounter of a European woman with a small country in Latin America which at that time had just freed itself from a 45-year dictatorship and was reaching for the stars. The film-maker returns to neo-liberal Nicaragua, battered by war and corruption, with little hope for the future: a Nicaragua which 20 years previously had offered one of the last social utopias and was the rallying point for thousands from around the world. "Nicaragua was the Vietnam of my generation." A film with women who had taken up arms at that time, and how they struggle to survive today.
