In the wake of the tumultuous uprisings of 2011, more than 20,000 Tunisians fled to Europe. Many headed for Paris, where they had been told they'd enjoy lives of plenty. Tunisian filmmaker Ahmed Jlassi wanders the Parisian streets, hearing the stories of lost men, who have woken up to the hard fact that no such wonderland exists – at least not to them. Mostly homeless and with only erratic access to cash in hand work, their lives are in limbo as their chances of obtaining legal papers look bleak. Their days are spent whiling the time away with cards and black humour, trying not to think of the women and children they have left behind – and promised to provide for. By night many of these men are exhausted and often desperate, frequently moved to tears as they describe being caught in a living nightmare.
