Borders are barriers between here and there, and - for some more, for others less - can be difficult to cross. Especially this "Border". Using a minimalist setting, "Border" addresses the very idea of borders, the “here†and the “thereâ€, the importance of getting from one to the other and very subtly raises fundamental questions about the purpose and relevancy of borders in general. With its high level of abstraction it encompasses every and any border-crossing, whether attempted out of pure luxury or bare need and whether met with arbitrariness, indifference or helpfulness. Wrapped in a cheerful design reaching out to viewers of all ages, “Border†plays with the elements of power and powerlessness and the possibility for a (literal) break-through. Because even in this seemingly globalized world, border crossings remain something that can never be taken for granted.
