Courtney Smith

Greetings!
Thank you for visiting me here.

Hoping for your support of my work and dream to continue to enlighten and educate people on what it means to live with an autoimmune disease.

I am currently in pre-production for a short film that highlights my healing journey. In 2001 at the age of 22, I was diagnosed with the autoimmune disease myasthenia gravis. I was doing a pretty good job of managing the autoimmune disease until May 2014 when the pain from the side effects of one of the medications I had been taking for over a decade, left me contemplating suicide. It was at that point that I stopped everything (working, partying, hanging out with friends) to listen to my body tell me what it needed to heal. I started doing bikram yoga 6-7 times per week. And allowed my body to guide me to the things it needed to heal as well as to calm my mind so that I could receive the tools being sent to me to heal.

As I continue my healing journey, I am truly amazed at what the universe reveals to me. The abundance of love I am surrounded by, and sacred moments of quiet meditation have really shown me that healing is a lifelong, continually process that I have learned to embrace every step of the way.

All contributions to my page will go towards the production of my short film which will begin summer 2016.

I cannot thank you enough for your support! Your help truly means the world to me. :)
