Students from the School of Informatics, Indiana University, Indianapolis, Indiana, USA spent one month on Paros Island, Greece to participate in a service-learning course. Following a suggestion from the local committee of the Hellenic Society for culture & Environment, Innovaros.com and Parosweb.Com, students were given the task of documenting the connection between agriculture and tourism in Paros, Greece and produce it in Greek with English subtitles in 30 days. Through interviews of local food producers, municipality and other residents, the students produced this documentary, â€œFood of the Past: Nourishment for the Future.â€ Through awareness of local culture and traditions, Informatics students hope this video will inform tourists who delight in the islandâ€™s authentic cuisine to support and sustain local food producers.
