"Letters by the Uncle Angel" it is a documentary that wants to claim an unknown Catalan Flamenco for the majority of the population. In the Catalan Flamenco, there are documents dating before to the 20th century, making it quite earlier than the known Catalan rumba and contemporaries of many Andalusian sticks. Paloma introduces the chronicles of the Catalan Flamenco, a historical and geographical itinerary up to the present. Paloma, of second generation Gypsy roots, is completely inexpert in Gypsy culture and tradition. She keeps finding, little by little, parts of her that were hidden until the moment of filming this documentary. “Lettres by Uncle Angel" exists to claim and introduce a Catalan and traditional Flamenco, untied to the Andalusian Flamenco. Highlighting the Flamenco typical of our country, not as a cultural standard, but as a means to show that it has joined and favored a good, communal life between Gypsies and chaps. We want to make a historical itinerary for our Flamenco, which has been previously unaware to the common majority - to see how it has evolved through time. It is a musical documentary, using the letters of the songs as a thread, since the music exists as a form of living for the Gypsies. The documentary is meant to be a social and musical itinerary for the until now hidden Catalan Flamenco.
