The title of this documentary,Â â€œMinoTawraâ€, is a play on words referring on one hand to the Greek myth â€œMinotauroâ€, which symboizes the Athenians' freedom from Cretan oppression, and on the other hand to the Arabic word â€œTawraâ€ which means revolution. MinoTawra retraces the fundamental steps of the events that have recently shocked Tunisia.Â
This documentary goes beyond the main events to reveal the fears and hopes that have been stirred as well as future prospects. Analyzing the causes and details that have been distorted by our media, this film takes you through and introduces some emblematic characters and life experiences which intertwine with the history of the country.Â Â
At times the pride and the dignity of an entire nation emerges in the background. The last generation of a revolution that wants change beyond national borders, and the role of the web and professional blogger in these changes has been researched and investigated, in addition to: Destroying fear and the rediscovery of a people, the prospect of a big and important change and the rebirth of an Islamic movement, the roles of the weakestÂ part of societyÂ in all of this: the youth of the rural south, women, unemployed, students.Â
With special attention given to the current situation, considering the first free elections on theÂ 23rd of October, which will form a constitutional forum. The revolution is still going on and it is still at risk. What will come of it? And what about this contagious Global Movement? Â
