Kami Fares is a documentarist and videoreporter italian palestinian. In 2011 is director of "MinoThawra: exporting change" about Arab Spring, winner of Lampedusa in Festival. In 2012 makes a report in Angola on life of street children and a video produced by UNHCR for the World refugees day 2012 in Luanda. As director he realizes also short movies, "Self Service" wins Festival Arcipelago and "Innocenze Perdute", where he is screenplayer, it is one of the 12 finalists of Nastri d'Argento. As videomaker and videoreporter collaborates with ZaLab, RAI, RSI and Repubblica ( making several documentaries, webdoc and reports). In 2013 wins a Prize at International Competition Giornalisti del Mediterraneo and in 2014 he has obtained President of Senate Medal for a report about immigration to EU published on Repubblica.it. He also follows as videomaker theatrical workshop with detaineds in the jail of Rome, Rebibbia. In 2014 works on two new documentaries, one follows a music therapy path in a residence for people affected by neuropsychiatric problems, the second one is shot in south Italy, showing ancient artisan craft.

Synopsis:
The title of this documentary, “MinoTawra”, is a play on words referring on one hand to the Greek myth “Minotauro”, which symboizes the Athenians' freedom from Cretan oppression, and on the other hand to the Arabic word “Tawra” which means revolution. MinoTawra retraces the fundamental steps of the events that have recently shocked Tunisia.  This documentary goes beyond the main events to reveal the fears and hopes that have been stirred as well as future prospects. Analyzing the causes and details that have been distorted by our media, this film takes you through and introduces some emblematic characters and life experiences which intertwine with the history of the country.    At times the pride and the dignity of an entire nation emerges in the background. The last generation of a revolution that wants change beyond national borders, and the role of the web and professional blogger in these changes has been researched and investigated, in addition to: Destroying fear and the rediscovery of a people, the prospect of a big and important change and the rebirth of an Islamic movement, the roles of the weakest part of society in all of this: the youth of the rural south, women, unemployed, students.  With special attention given to the current situation, considering the first free elections on the 23rd of October, which will form a constitutional forum. The revolution is still going on and it is still at risk. What will come of it? And what about this contagious Global Movement?   Only fear can kill dreams and the Tunisian people are not fearful anymore.
