“Forests For People†is an educational documentary. The film features the work of
forest rangers, forest researchers and an off-road stroll through the wilderness of a remarkable national park. Stunning aerial shoots show fascinating landscapes across Germany. The film aims to raise awareness on sustainably managed forests and conservation of habitats in Germany. Forests in Germany are diverse and in harmony with nature, a mosaic of varying habitats. Healthy forests act as habitats for plants and animals, store fresh water and have a balancing effect on the climate. They also provide jobs in rural regions and timber as a renewable resource. And they are open to everyone to enjoy recreation, sport and nature. The film “Forests For People†is a German contribution to the International Year of Forests 2011. The film is commissioned by the German Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection.
