Charysse Tia Harper

Thank you for supporting my work!
My name is Charysse Tia Harper and I am a Trinidad-American documentary filmmaker from southern California since 2010. I completed my first film, award-winning "The Other Side of Carnival," which looks at the social and economic impact of Trinidad & Tobago's Carnival. You can view it here.

My second film is "T&T: 50 in Fifteen (2012)," which commemorates the 50 years of Trinidad & Tobago's independence, told in 15 minutes. My third film is award-winning "12 Months (2014)", about a Los Angeles man who rents his 3-bedroom home to a woman and her four children for $1 per month for a year! The latter can be seen here.

I am currently working on completing my fourth film, "Panomundo": a story told in two sections - Part 1: The Evolution of the Steelpan and Part 2: Pan Worldwide. It looks at the history of the steelpan (or steel drum) and its global influence. Part 1 was released in August 2015 and we anticipate a fall release for Part 2 in 2016.
